Mr. Mellos holds degrees in mathematics, science, and engineering from the University of Utah. He began his career at Northrop and TRW corporations, where he managed technical multimillion-dollar aerospace programs and navigated complex regulatory environments. He translated that operational rigor into high-impact business strategies. Jim expanded his horizons at the incecption of IOStar—a pioneering space retrieval and repair satellite initiative. He spearheaded the development of extraction architectures for asteroidal platinum-group metals, and rare-earth elements critical to next-generation electronics. Today, Jim leverages this unique blend of deep-tech engineering and executive foresight to help non-aerospace clients adopt the precision, resilience, and risk-management discipline of the space industry—driving breakthrough performance in their own markets.
